Backstory:
Tatum moved to Pine Valley a few days before her third birthday, accompanied by the shiny new family she’d been adopted into. They weren’t Canon Beach wealthy, but a published writer and a skilled surgeon made for a comfortable life, to say the least. She'd been given up for adoption by her birth parents along with her siblings, never really knowing who they were. Even as a teenager, she rarely thought about who they could be or if they regretted their decision - she was happy with her life, or at least content without knowing.
Growing up in a house bordering the forest, Tatum was no stranger to exploring the wilderness on her own, developing a skill for photography, and later growing into a love for film making.
Spending a lot of time on her own, she struggled to make friends in middle school, often picked on by the ‘popular’ kids for being a little too weird for their liking. That was until she made friendly alliances with Faith and Alexandra, who became her best friends for the following few years - inseparable almost. But thanks to Tatum's desire to gain just a shred of popularity, amongst other reasons, they grew apart after leaving middle school.
When she moved on up to high school, Tatum decided to reinvent herself, shedding the loner 'loser' look and joining the cheerleading squad in a bid to make friends. She even cut her hair and bleached it blonde. It worked for the most part, securing Tatum a place in the social ladder and far from being bullied or looked down upon by the cooler kids she was now friends with. Though she may be living as a falsified version of herself to fit in, Tatum is still confident in who she is. A force to be reckoned with, even.
